Nathan's been having stomach pain, so intense it wakes him up at night. I finally took him to the pediatrician yesterday and they put him on Zantac, hoping it was an acid problem. Hopefully this works...if not, he'll have to have some tests run at the hospital (sonograms, x-rays, etc.) trying to fix the problem.
Needless to say, school has taken a backseat when the kid is sick. Grandma's been staying all week too, so she could take a class for teacher re-certification.
The weather has been so hot, we've had to stay in. Thankfully we have a pool, so we've been spending some time there.
We'll get back to school sometime soon.
Is he only having at night or certain times like after meals or certain foods? I've had a number of those tests, the ultrasound and barium deal because of my IBS. Has he ever been tested for celiac?
ReplyDeleteit's at different times. It could be due to acid...I'm starting to keep a little food diary for him. He likes flavorful food, and doesn't care for the bland. He hasn't been tested for anything, yet. The antacid was the first step before the expensive tests. It's been a few days and he still says his belly hurts. We had to leave a restaurant yesterday b/c he said it hurt.
ReplyDeleteCeliac test is just a blood test if I'm remembering correctly. It occurred to me because I know he's had some strength type issues in the past (I'm recalling you saying he had difficulties biking) and celiac effects nutrient absorption which I would assume could effect muscle development, etc.
