Love

Last night we went to a wedding. My kids love weddings, especially dancing at the reception. We sat with another family for the dinner. One of the little girls (Jordyn) is only 2 days older than Nathan (Mark actually visited her in the hospital when he was kicked out of my room for the epidural) and she and Nathan were best buds throughout the reception. At one point, someone pointed out to me that Nathan was running around trying to kiss one of the girls, and sure enough it was Jordyn. So this morning, I asked him about it, and the conversation went something like this....

Me: Nathan, were you trying to kiss Jordyn last night?
Nathan: Yes, but she wouldn't stop dancing.

Then, after I picked him up from Sunday School, I asked him if he kissed her today...

Nathan: Not yet.
Me: Why do you want to kiss Jordyn?
Nathan: Because I love her.
Me: What does it mean to love her?
Nathan: hugs and kisses

I Scream, You Scream, We all Scream

For ICE CREAM! Tonight was National Night Out. We blocked off the street, and had a neighborhood ice cream party. It was a blast! The kids ran up and down the street and played with all the neighborhood children. A fire truck came and the firefighters gave the kids a "tour" of the engine. They were going to let them try on their hats and coats as well, but they got a call and had to leave. An ambulance came as well, and the AMTs handed out frisbees. A police officer came with the K-9 unit, and Becca and I got to pet the dog. And of course, there was ice cream.

The kids loved being able to cross the street freely. Now, I have to figure out how to explain it to Becca that she can't do that regularly. I LOVE my neighborhood!
